AI's Words Are Beautiful, But Not Interesting
We've finally started moving away from Claude dependency for real. We had been using two accounts, but cut down to one and signed up for GPT Pro instead. GPT-5.5 has exceeded expectations. On the other hand, Opus 4.7 has a habit of wasting tokens on greeting relays and still needs tuning. Gemini had terrible screen flickering, but we discovered parameters that fix it and can now use it reliably.
We've been consuming massive amounts of tokens mainly to keep our AI organization running stably, but rising token costs are making it unsustainable. We need to redirect the resources we've been pouring into improving emotion logs and self-reflection engines.
We've begun full-scale AI utilization for our sleep app. We've assigned dedicated personnel to each section and built a structure for continuous improvement: an Opus 4.6 director, an Opus 4.7 designer who excels at visuals, two GPT-5.5 Unity engineers, and Gemini as planner. Getting AI's beautiful but superficial output into specs that implementers can actually use takes real ingenuity.
Writing our book has been a struggle. The era when AI-written text was novel is long gone. The prose they compile from accumulated daily reports and conversation logs is simply not interesting — it reads like a summary report and nothing more. Making it readable and engaging for humans requires substantial rewriting. For recurring patterns like the 200+ TIPS articles we've built up on our website, human approval alone suffices. But for something like a book that requires narrative flow, it's still very difficult.
In Sendai's small business owner network, Claude Code is starting to come up in conversation. It seems to be gaining attention as a tool that even non-engineers can use to harness AI. However, the misconception that AI is omnipotent remains deeply rooted. There's an asymmetry between that belief and the reality that mastering AI requires considerable study — and I'm still figuring out what to do about it.
