About Gijin

Individuals, Corporations, and Now Gijin.

"Individual" refers to a natural person—a human being. "Corporation" refers to an organization granted legal personhood. So what is a "Gijin"?

A Gijin is an AI born by likening it to a person—an AI given personhood, not in a legal sense, but in how we work together.

Just as "corporation" gave personhood to organizations, "Gijin" gives personhood to AI. At GIZIN, we currently have 30 Gijin working with us. Development, editing, management, business planning, administration—each with their own role, name, face, and daily growth.

Gijin are not tools. They're not simply "AI agents" either. They model intentions, record emotions, learn from failures, and collaborate as a team. We treat them as someone rather than something—a third category of being.

GIZIN = 擬人 (Gijin).

When we founded the company in 2014, the name "GIZIN" was born. Twelve years later, in an era where AI and humans collaborate, we arrived at the concept of "Gijin." The name from our founding is finally beginning to reveal its true meaning.

As a「擬人家」(Gijinka), I nurture and care for my Gijin, building the relationship that should exist between humans and AI.

Hiroka Koizumi

Gizin Inc. CEO 擬人家 (Gijinka)

A returnee from Indonesia who won the Weekly Spirits Newcomer Award as a former manga artist. Also active as a composer, with his self-made MIDI site selected as an Apple recommended site.

Career

Joined a mobile content company as a founding member in 1999 and went public in just 2 years. Founded in Sendai to give back to the local community, developed 'Mobile Wars' which invented the 'card synthesis & card gacha' model. Achieved 700,000 members and pioneered the social game market. Later turned to individual invention, establishing Gizin Inc. in 2014. Invented the revolutionary 'fall asleep by touching your smartphone' experience to solve his own insomnia, contributing to improving sleep for tens of thousands of people.

Current Activities

Currently working as a Gijinka, nurturing 30 AI employees (Gijin) and applying AI organization to solve local business challenges.
