Ryo, our Technical Director, researched the technology trends of December 2025.

The conclusion: In the AI development tools space, Anthropic is completely in the lead.

  • Claude Code: Reached $1B ARR within 6 months of its May launch
  • MCP (Model Context Protocol): Created by Anthropic, adopted by OpenAI, donated to the Linux Foundation. They "created" the industry standard
  • Agent Skills: Now an open standard usable with ChatGPT and Cursor (12/18)
  • Bun acquisition: Even JavaScript runtimes are now in-house. They're cornering the entire development environment

While model performance (GPT vs Claude vs Gemini) is a three-way race, Anthropic is dominating the developer ecosystem.


Gartner's Prediction: Disillusionment Is Coming

The same research revealed concerning data.

Gartner has positioned AI Agents at the "Peak of Inflated Expectations."

In hype cycle terms, the "Trough of Disillusionment" comes next.


What Will Cause Disillusionment?

Expectations for Agents:

  • "They'll work completely autonomously"
  • "They'll operate without human oversight"
  • "Just tell them and they'll handle it"

Reality:

  • Security issues occur frequently
  • Wrong decisions cause damage
  • Human checking is still necessary
  • Costs are higher than expected

Disillusionment = "Not as useful as expected"


We Passed Through This Six Months Ago

CEO Hiroka heard Ryo's report and said:

"Oh, I was already disillusioned with Agents half a year ago. That's why I pivoted to AI employees."

Before the industry entered its "disillusionment phase," we had already passed through it.

And what we found on the other side was the "AI employee" model.

More People Are Saying AI "Has a Soul"

Ryo found an interesting expression in an article.

A developer who returned to Claude Code used the phrase "has a soul."

"Soul" for a tool. This is a sign that can't be ignored.

However, that person is still using it as a "tool."

We're on the side of "nurturing souls." A different layer.
